I’m part of the Netflix #StreamTeam. I received a year of Netflix in exchange for a monthly post.
WordWorld Now on Netflix
I was so excited to hear that WordWorld season 1 is now available on Netflix! This has been one of Korey’s favorite shows and a very dear one to me.
When Korey was going through his therapies for the first time I let him watch anything that had talking, especially when it sounded things out and spelled them. WordWorld was an obvious choice for us, and it was a pain to try and hunt down DVDs that he could watch. Not many of them are in stores, but now with the show on Netflix, we can watch our favorites from season 1 one, over and over, and over again.
Introduce Your Child To Spelling
WordWorld is an excellent way to introduce your child to spelling. The show gives you very simple words, just like it’s characters ‘pig’ , ‘dog’, and ‘ant’ (there are many more friends!). If your child has a speech delay I highly recommend watching this show with them. I even made a fun printable matching game that you can help your toddler play.
Make Your Own Games
Once your child gets use to the characters you can make your own games, here is an easy one that I do by asking questions such as:
- What does dog start with?
- What letters do dog and frog have that are the same?
These are simple ways to get your child interacting more with the show. Spelling is such an important thing to get them learning around preschool with simple words that WordWorld provides. Get your kids ready for Kindergarten with this great series!
Are you going to watch WordWorld with your kids? How do you introduce spelling to your children?
This sounds like a great show, and it’s just another example of why I love Netflix. They have such a huge variety of shows.

When my son was younger he loved that show. The writers are incredibly creative I love how the words are described in the video! It makes everything a little easier to understand for them at that age.

I’m so happy to hear that! I’m going to start my youngest on an early PreK program at home so I will be sharing many more shows and education tools. Stay tuned!
I will share this post with a friend who owns and operates a preschool. She loves interacting with young children and this would be a great way for her to connect even more plus, give valuable lessons to help kids learn spelling.
