What Schools Really Need and How Box Tops Help
I recently had the honor of celebrating with one of my sons schools, Rainbow Preschool on a grant win I helped them receive. They are using the winnings to help bring together their curriculum with NYS approved curriculum. And still, there’s more that they need. Each year they send a wishlist to help with their small, but important classes.
Kids Can Have Enough Play #saidnoschoolever
When you have a special needs preschool, they need a lot of things. With most children having sensory or motor disorders they need a lot of time to move around and play or exercise. This requires some very specific equipment which is expensive and can take years for them to raise on their own through donations. However, parents at our school are helping out in a simple way, donating Box Tops.
Box Tops Knowledge
I have been giving Box Tops to my stepmother who gives them to her local school, when I my son finally started school and they let me know they did Box Tops too, I was so excited! If you are thinking that Box Tops are just a little piece of cardboard or paper you are wrong!
Each Box Top is worth .10, and schools can earn up to $20,000 by collecting Box Tops each year! That’s a lot of money for things that schools need , never throw out a Box Top, you can always find a local school that needs them. And when you buy Hefty trash bags you are buying the only trash bag with Box Tops on them!
Watch this hilarious Hefty Box Top video of the #SaidNoSchoolEver campaign. Sometimes we need some humor to make us realize what the school really needs.
We have too much gym equipment, we are totally fine on crayons and workbooks, need more puzzles for fine motor skills, nahhh we are great! These are all things my sons school would never say because I know they are just the tip of the iceberg on what they need.
What would you school really need?
