TMNT Embroidery Hoop Craft
The new Teenage Mutant Ninjas: Out Of The Shadows movie is in theaters! Have you gone to see it? We will anxiously be awaiting the blu-ray release to get it into our collection.
Fun fact, there are some shots from a town close to me Buffalo, NY in the movie! My son is so excited that it was shot close to our home a little bit. If you remember his excitement for TMNT and the fun foam paper craft of teenage mutant ninja turtles that I made, then you will be excited for another TMNT craft!
You can easily take these and hang them up for display, give as gifts or help an older child learn how to make.
Materials:
Embroidery Hoops
1-6″ and 3-3″ hoops were used
Green fabric
Scissors
Felt in the following colors: red, blue, purple and orange
Google Eyes in large and small sizes
Hot Glue
Pencil
Directions
Trim your fabric about 1″ bigger than the embroidery hoop. Take apart the hoop and place your fabric inside, pulling tightly and putting the outer hoop on and tightening it.
Use your scissors to trim the fabric from the hoop.
Cut about a 1.5″ x 9″ piece of red felt for the mask. Trim the mask to fit onto the front of the hoop. You can use the hoop as a template and lightly trace the shape onto the felt.
Affix the mask to one edge of the hoop by applying a thin layer of hot glue. (Affix the angled end first.)
Cut the opposite end of the red felt into a v shape. Glue the v shape together and then to the hoop.
Follow by affixing the eyes with hot glue.
Repeat with the remaining hoops and masks, and display as desired!
You could certainly add a mouth or smile with a black permanent marker.
My grandson would go crazy over your embroidery hoop ninja turtles! They are adorable and look easy enough that I could do it. I could see these being used for a ninja turtle birthday party too. So cute!

Omg you have saved me time and money. We are redoing my sons room and he loves TNMT!
Now that is something I think that even I can do. My mother was so crafty and could make things look so good. For me though not quite. I have been cleaning out my parents house lately, trying to figure out what to do with all of their things. Mom had enough sewing and craft stuff in the basement that could fill a store. I need some projects or people to do the projects.
What a lovely and fun craft to do, I can’t wait to see teenage mutant turtles in cinema soon

This is adorable, and it is pretty easy, you don’t need to know how to embroider, sew, etc. It would be fun to do as an activity!
My grandson is in that pre-teen stage that is getting harder to hang onto him wanting to do crafts with me. But he absolutely loves TMT so I know he would love making these!
