Walmart Family Mobile Summer Savings
School’s Out!
It’s official, Korey made it through the first year of Pre-K and we have 2 weeks off before summer school starts! While we were bummed when Korey’s school made the suggestion of him being in summer school, we knew that it was best for him to get services and to have more time in the classroom for his social skills that need work on.
Now that it’s summer time we have a little free time, but still we need to make the effort to be more closer to home, since a trip is really out of the question. How do we save while still having a fun summer? By using the lowest unlimited plans thanks to Walmart Family Mobile.
4 Ways to Have Fun Locally in Summer
1. Check your local paper
My town has a paper for the weekend call the PennySaver, perfect name right?! Each Sunday that it arrives on the porch I open it up and take out my highlighter to mark free or discounted things for the family to do together. In some cases Kyler, who is 18 months, is too young for some things but if Korey can benefit from it I still find a way to take him.
Local plays, concerts on the canal, and of course festivals are big hits in the family. You can easily find events that have pre-sale tickets in the paper and order them to save money and get ahead of the planning! The paper takes a lot of research out of having fun locally so you have more time to enjoy each other.
2. Ebates
Ebates is one of my favorite sites to browse before making a purchase. I get emails customized for stores that I favorite or have shopped at before. When you shop through Ebates you earn cash back by a percentage of what you spend. You can easily download the app
Are you a great savings shopper? You could earn enough to pay for Christmas presents, or if you want pay those bills and debts. There is also the chance that Ebates will let you cash out early for a e-gift card. I have a $17 Sephora gift card waiting for the release of new products in July. It’s a great way to earn on purchases you would make any ways, and to get money back in your pocket.
3. Walmart Family Mobile
One of the best ways I am able to save in the summer, and year round, is having my phone line with Walmart Family Mobile. Since it’s a post-paid service (you pay for your service at the end of the month instead pre-paying for service) I know exactly what to expect to pay for. Each month the bill is $29.88 (this is for the first line) and I get unlimited talk, text and data with 1G of 4G LTE data available.
Disclaimer: All prices for phones and plans included in this post are accurate as of the date of posting; however, these prices are subject to change. Please refer to http://cbi.as/dkuo or your local Walmart for current pricing.
It’s super easy to budget each month, and the money I save is wonderful. I can still surf the internet, upload pictures and check my e-mail for clients all while having a fun summer with the family and documenting it! They also have very affordable phones like the ZTE Zinger and the LG 450 for $29.88 each. The Alcatel Evolve 2 (was priced at $59.88) and the Alcatel One Touch Pop Astro are affordable at $34.83 and $64.88 respectively.
If you’re looking for a little more ‘pop’ and ‘zazz’, people say zazz right? Look into the LG Leon LTE at $99.82 and the Alcatel Fierce 2 $99.88 (down from $129.99). Still great phones and under $100.00, Walmart Family Mobile knows that families have budgets but those kids and tech lovers still like having phones that can do everything the ‘other’ top of the line phones do for more than half the price with no contract!
Have the money to spend for an amazing phone over $100? The ZTE ZMAX for $179 (down from $199.88) is an amazing ‘phablet’ for high quality graphics, and a big screen for movie watching. The Galaxy Avant for $149.99 (big discount from $199.99) is another great phone to dip your toe in the Galaxy phone family. Great service, unlimited everything, and phones that are set at great prices so if I want to upgrade on my terms I can!
4. Visit places in groups
Most attraction places have discounts for groups. Now that Kyler is able to places with us, he is usually free since he is under a year but the group discounts start at 4 people. Texting my best friend to see when she is free is the first thing I do before heading out on a visit. My father, mom and other family is also readily available at my finger tips on my phone, since I have unlimited texting from Walmart Family Mobile I don’t have to worry about over-texting anyone.
Group discounts have been great at getting tickets for rides at fairs, now that Korey is old enough to go on rides I let him get that energy out but still keep a pretty tight pocket. Group memberships are also something to consider. Planning on attending your local zoo or museum frequently through the summer, then a group membership is perfect to save and bring along an additional person as a guest. I love using my unlimited data from Walmart Family Mobile to google for great group discounts.
