Thoughtful Gifts Kids Will Enjoy – Holiday Shopping 2017
Are you all set for holiday shopping for 2017? If you’re looking for some thoughtful gifts kids will enjoy, I have the perfect list thanks to my friends at BabbleBoxx.
Helio projection light
Bedtime in our house is like a zoo. The kids are running around, singing, and avoiding laying down any way they can. With my oldest having ADHD and his younger brother being a sensory seeker, it can be difficult.
The first night we used Helio educational projection system, it changed things. While our 4 year-old may not be able to participate in the questions and answers that you can use with the Helio cards, he did enjoy seeing animals and paying attention to them.
Included with the Helio is a set of lesson cards that you can use to help your child’s mind calm down and concentrate. The Helio stays on for 30 minutes at a time and projects the card that you use on the ceiling. We used the speed of animals card first and asked Korey questions about who is the fastest, and the slowest, along with asking about the numbers they run at.
Combining self-regulation and learning all in one fun tool, a wonderful gift kids would love! Purchase one Helio and get a second discounted at $34.95 with code LearningLight, good through April 2018.
WowWee: Mangaflex
This brand is a huge hit in our family, we have loved all the toys we have played with by them and this one brings great creativity. First, it’s approved for kids 3 and up so both children are able to play with it together.
It’s a fun magnetic toy that my youngest Kyler was able to make a worm with right away by connecting a few colorful pieces together. Korey started off with shapes and then moved up to trying some of the fun designs included in the booklet.
I think these are perfect toys for kids of all ages but especially children that need to work on their fine motor skills. The magnets can help challenge their movement and lets their creativity flow as well, and who doesn’t love playing with colors!
Candlewick Press: The Wonderling by Mira Bartok
Reading is a very important fundamental that my children have picked up at an early age. They have a natural love for it and they wanted to watch movies and shows with captions, which turned out to help them read even faster. Now we have moved onto books!
This book is recommended for ages 10-14 but with Korey being an advanced reader, we have started this book out slowly together. Inside you meet Arthur who is shy with one-ear and is what they call a foundling (half fox, half human) and he sets off on an adventure with his friend Trinket.
There are a lot of interesting words and creative imagination to help expand your child’s mind. I highly recommend this for children who like fantasy. You can get 25 % off and free shipping when you use code CANDLEWICK in the shop.
PEZ: Christmas Ornament Collection
Hung up on our tree is the kids’ new favorite ornament, PEZ from their Christmas Ornament Collection. It’s a favorite candy in the house already and having a new decoration for the tree is perfect.
We often use PEZ candy for stocking stuffers since they have such a fun variety of dispensers. I think these would be a great gift for kids and using it as a new ornament that they get to hunt for on the tree.
Petlanthropy: Donation Gift Cards
In the spirit of the holidays, giving back should be something you try to teach your children. There are many animals in shelters who do not have a place to call home and shelters that could use donations to help alleviate the cost of buying beds, toys, food and more.
A great way to give back is through Petlanthropy and their donation gift cards that you can purchase to give to a shelter located on their page. When you purchase a gift card you also can get special furry and funny surprises in exchange. I think these are a wonderful tool to help teach children how giving back, and if you cannot have an animal in your house this is great to allow your child to feel like they are helping take care of an animal.
Vince Camuto: Shoes
Shoes are always on the list as a holiday gift! Why not give your child something comfortable to wear like these Boys Gradie High Top Sneaker in Navy. A nicely detailed high top sneaker that is lined with leather.
Korey is so excited to wear these and knows that we are taking special care of these not to have them out in the snow or near salt. I let him wear them around the house to get a good feel for them and he likes that they aren’t stiff and move nicely with his crazy feet, along with giving good support.
Viv + Lou: Duffel bag
And finally, how about a new travel bag for kids? Whether it’s off to see family for the holidays or planning a summer vacation. This Viv + Lou Duffel bag is perfect to carry all their essentials, and you have it personalized with a monogram or name!
This beautiful bag is going to be gifted to my niece, with a demand that she comes back to see me after she moved 2,000 miles away. It will be able to hold all her clothes and toys with a nice reinforced bottom and rubber feet. Use code LOVEANDCOFFEE for 25% off sitewide!
