The Laugh Out Loud Movie of the Year: Despicable Me 3 Review
The first time I saw a minion on the screen I fell in love. With each of them having their own characteristic and that unique language they spoke. I was hooked on every laugh they gave me.
Good news for parents, and children all over: Despicable Me 3 is available now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™, DVD and On Demand.
In the third installment of the series, we follow Gru and Lucy, along with the girls Margo, Edith, and Agnes. Gru winds up fired from his job at the Anti-Villian League for not being able to follow through and take down the newest bad guy Balthazar Bratt (Dad’s FAVORITE character in the movie!).
Sadly the Minions decide to depart from Gru and be bad, inside jail! I think some of the funniest Minion moments come from the jail scenes. They really went over the top in trying to prove just how bad they are, but as classic as they are you just laugh along with them.
A character makes a surprise appearance, and I don’t want to spoil it as it’s not advertised anywhere. Let’s just say everyone who watches is going to be shocked to see this person back in action.
After Gru is left without a job, he starts to feel like he doesn’t know who he is anymore but a surprise visit from his twin brother, Dru helps him get back on track. Dru is the exact opposite of our friend Gru, funny and everyone wants to be his friend! He doesn’t have the family gene of being “good” at being a supervillain, something that makes him want to be connected to his brother badly.
Throughout the movie, we have a theme of getting to know who the characters are at their core. We’ve seen their personality develop over the movies and have seen
some transformations, but this time we see what the triggers are that made them the way they are.
It’s a great movie the kids to laugh along with their favorite characters but also to see some growth. Your toes will even be tapping in some scenes and it’s going to be hard to pick a favorite in the end!
Enjoy these activity sheets while your kids wait to unwrap the movie.
