Building Confident Children
One worry that we had for Korey when he started going to preschool was him using the potty. This fall will be his second year attending, and while he can wear underwear with confidence during the day. He still has the occasional bed-wetting at night, and he does not want to be treated like a baby and wear a diaper.
That is where GoodNites TruFit has come into play, underwear that he can use and feel like a big boy while I don’t have to worry about washing the sheets every night thanks to a disposable liner. Knowing that he feels better about himself allows me to encourage him more every day!
GoodNites TruFit Real Underwear
These actual pairs of soft fabric underwear allows him to feel confident in sleeping through the night while having disposable liners that can soak up messes if necessary. Korey feels so much better being able to go to bed in real underwear, and I love that I can toss the liner and wash the underwear. No need to spend a ton of money on non-washable underwear.
Introducing Change via Social Story
When we have to get Korey used to something we use social stories. These are made with simple clipart and tell him a story of how something is going to work for him and what to expect as the outcome. Having something he can read (yes he can read all of this, my little bookworm) and know how it will affect him has helped so much for his way of interpreting things.
Often as special needs parents we find ourselves already saying no to something because of Korey’s abilities, or lack thereof. However, his teachers and therapists have helped walk us through learning to let go, and letting him make mistakes. It’s been so rewarding seeing what Korey can accomplish and how much confidence he has in himself to take that opportunity to fail and then learn a lesson.
One of the great things about these Goodnite TruFits is that they are available at your local CVS and you can use a coupon on a GoodNites Starter Pack for your child. Korey loved carrying them home and was all excited to put them on the first night. Getting your child in on the excitement makes for a less scary process and easy transition.
With easy clean up, affordable pricing, and underwear that brings the confidence out in Korey, GoodNites TruFit have given us a peaceful mind at night.
