Have you ever wanted to go thrifting for thee PERFECT Valentine’s Day date outfit but stopped because, man… the running around, the sorting through clothes, the victory of spotting the perfect dress only to be defeated by the size on the tag?
This is where I find myself currently. I wanted nothing more than to find a perfect date night outfit for Valentines Day but all these worries and the added fear of recent weight loss made the will to go out, well, MEH.

Then I was given a challenge. Take a $100 provided by Swap.com and find myself the perfect Valentine’s Day Outfit! Challange accepted. I can not rave more about this site, but let me try. They have all your major categories for clothing.
The filters were AMAZING. AH-MAZING. Sorting by size, color, or even extreme specifics ( I REALLY wanted a new wrap dress, y’all) was no issue at all. Bonus points: you can choose a filter to even shop only new with tags on merch. They have SO MANY brands and all at great prices, comparable to any cheapy thrift store I’ve ever been in. So. Many. Styles: there is truly something for everyone on this site. If all of this wasn’t enough, the icing on the cake is free shipping and handling your first order that is more than $10.

I was stoked. I went crazy. I spent about 2 hours on the site just falling in love with a whole new wardrobe. An affordable wardrobe! I ended up spending a grand total of $99.50 of my $100. For my money, I got THIRTEEN new (to me) pieces. Each piece on the website is an actual picture of the piece they are sending you and ahead are pictures (and reviews!) of all the pieces I received.
This Max and Cleo black wrap dress is life! This is what I choose for my Valentine’s date dress and it can’t get here soon enough. I feel absolutely amazing in this dress. No. NO. BITCH, I AM FABULOUS in this dress. Body confidence is a long time coming and still a struggle for me and I feel like I can take on the whole world it this dress.
It is both stylish and exceedingly comfortable. Best of all this dress is not only perfect dressed up with some heels and fancy jewelry for my date, but I would wear this with sandals to the beach, shopping, anywhere! I am in LOVE with this dress. For only $11 it was a steal!
I picked this second outfit as a more casual approach to Valentine’s. My perfect day would be chocolate (of course), thrifting, maybe catching a movie and a casual dinner out or at home. But February is chilly and with all that running around maybe a dress wouldn’t work. I had to find adorable pants! These floral jeans by Ultra Love immediately caught my eye. They are so fun and pretty! I had to have them.
This sent me on the search for a perfect red top to match and I think I did great in this choice of top. Definitely a little different than my usual choice of style but I was not disappointed by how well this outfit worked together. Now my biggest problem will be choosing which one to wear the big day!
First of all let me say, these are my new favorite ever jeans. They are beyond comfortable. cute and fitted but not too tight from Rue21? In LOVE. I paired it with this cute little lavender top from Mine. I’ve never been a fan of how I look in a peplum top, especially with extra frills, but I was surprisingly, pleasantly pleased with how this shirt fit and looked. It’s wonderfully soft and feminine without feeling like its too much.
This initially was one of my most exciting finds. Swap has a filter feature to buy brand new with tags still on items. I thought what better item than these No Boundaries jeggings? (as worn leggings can be a bigger risk!) They fit like a glove and look really nice. My only complaint is with the tag on of course I could see the price, and on Swap I paid $1 more than retail! BUT, the savings on the rest of the clothes paired with the free shipping and handling meant that I couldn’t stay angry with my new favorite place to shop. It more than made up for this slight transgression, in my eyes. And hey.. cute leggings, am I right?
Jeans have been a big deal for me. I mentioned recent weight loss and it actually made choosing sizes of jeans a little hard for me. My floral pair were 7s and I knew that is the size I’m coming out of. The Rue21s are 5s and I was scared folks. For my last pair, I chose these size 6 zipper ankle jeans from Old Navy.
I was surprised and excited when all three pair fit so nicely! At the time I purchased these they were running a sale on all their Old Navy merch, discounting this pair even more. They practically mold to your body and knowing what I would pay in store for these jeans, I am THRILLED to have thrifted them AND on sale. WOOHOO!
I just know I am going to get so much use out of this gorgeous maxi by Ocean Breeze. You can’t stop twirling and dancing in a dress like this. I could practically live in this dress. The soft fabric and beautiful print were so much more than I could have expected just seeing the dress online.
This was a runner-up for Valentine’s dress but the weather made sure to remind me that this would be better suited as a summer night date dress. I could feel the beach calling me while I wore this and it just makes me look more and more forward to the coming warm weather months!
From Self Esteem I present you: A DRESS WITH POCKETS! Did I pick it solely for this reason? Maybe. Do I have regrets? Not a single one. I was very excited to add a dress that I would love wearing anywhere, including work and, excuse the blurry hands, but just look at that fit! I plan on pairing this with a cream belt and cream shoes for the extreme cuteness factor. Oh, and hey, did I mention it has pockets?! Because.. It has pockets.
How disco chic is this little firecracker? From Charlotte Russe this little romper is the bees knees. I love its big bell sleeves and crochette arms. The hippie vibes are strong with this one. Rompers are my current obsession so I picked three and this is the big winner of them all. I love each of them but this baby takes the prize!
Sorry, no on me pictures here folks! This see-through, lace cami by Kische is a wonderful fit and not at all itchy like some lace tops can be. Unfortunately, there were just no good ways to get a decent picture of it without being INdecent myself. You’ll just have to take my word that this undershirt is awesome for coverage, pretty and useful for any of my million low hanging shirts that needed just a little something underneath.
Le’sigh. I took my absolute biggest chance on this romper. Soft and floral and perfect for the beach going….. a daydream of a piece. this is a House of Harlow ensemble and I knew it ran small. I did look for it in large but it only had one in a medium so I took a chance. And failed. Wompwomp. I could have cried when I couldn’t get it over my boobs! This is in no way swaps fault and all is not lost, she is being regifted to a friend and I will just have to enjoy her beauty from afar. I, of course, could return it and exchange it for something new but as this was a gift unto me, I wanted to pay it a little forward. So. C.A, I hope you love it as much as I did! ( And I will be stalking the site until I find the same or similar jumper because I NEED YOU!)
This black romper is also a beauty but I actually had the exact opposite issue from the above romper. There is no pic because it’s just the slightest bit too big. I would have decided to keep it and just use a belt but I am still on my weight loss journey so I’ve decided this will be the piece I use to test the return guarantees provided by swap.com and using the credit to *fingers crossed* find the twinsie to the HoH romper above. Wish me luck!
All and all, 10/10 will be shopping again. And again. Oh. And again. I have already told so many of my friends to RUN to this site for awesome clothing at awesome savings and now, dear readers, I am telling you. Quality clothing at thrift store prices? This website was all I was hoping for and more. I’m so excited for my next adventure on Swap!
