How to Save on Christmas Decor
It’s time to learn how to save on Christmas decor and remain within your budget.
The holidays are approaching us quickly and I am one that loves to deck the halls and go all out when it comes to decor for my home! There is just something about the beautiful lights, the glittery ornaments, and everything just looking so beautiful and happy that makes things so awesome during the holiday season! However, this can get really on the expensive side. Decorations cost a lot of money these days! So with that being said, I am going to be sharing with you a few ways that I save on my Christmas Decor every year! Boy is it worth it!
-DIY: First off if you are crafty and coordinated person, DIY is your best bet! All of those fancy Christmas wreaths and decorations can very easily be made at home on your own time for about half the cost! Even if you don’t make something identical to what you are thinking about buying, make something that is inspired by that item! You can easily find your very own supplies and make up your favorite Christmas decor! Why pay an outrageous amount for something that you can easily make yourself and pay a fraction of the price!
-Dollar Store: Check out your local dollar store for decorations as well! You would be surprised at what you find! The dollar store actually has a ton of really cute, obviously very cheap ornaments and decorations! Although these decorations make not be completely durable, they do last pretty well! I’ve had a few items that I purchased at the dollar store and have had for a couple years now!
-Hobby Stores: Another great store to check out would be hobby stores, such as Michael’s or Hobby Lobby! These places tend to have a lot of really great sales such as 40% off sales all throughout the holiday season! If they don’t, there is almost always a 40% coupon that you are able to get from both of these stores apps on your phone!
-Black Friday/After Christmas Sales: Everyone knows that Black Friday tends to have a ton of amazing sales, well that applies to Christmas decor as well! So definitely check out those sales and look for some good deals. Also, go shopping for decor for the next year right after Christmas ends! Once Christmas is over, all of the decorations and candy drops extremely low in price so that they can get rid of it all! So stock it up for the next year and you will save a ton of money!
If you’re wanting to do it big for Christmas decor this year but don’t want to break the bank, check out these tips and I promise you that you will save a ton of cash!
I think dollar stores have some of the best decorations around! I’m always shocked by how wonderful all those goodies are

I love the Dollar Store! I also love the after Christmas sales, but it seems like you have to get there literally the day after Christmas to get any of the good stuff. DIY seems to be the theme for me lately though, I have two elementary age kids that LOVE to make those paper chains 🙂

great tips! I always grab fun holiday items from the dollar store and shop for the bigger items the day after xmas. Can’t wait, although that would mean Christmas is over, so yes I can wait 😉
Christmas can be very expensive all on its own. Decorations always take a back seat in my house… maybe not any more. Thanks for this. BTW I love the name of your blog.
We love shopping at the dollar store for affordable Christmas decor! I’ve also noticed that Michael’s has had some really amazing sales this year! (e.g. 40% regular prices and before the holiday too!) I’ve always wanted to buy at the end of the season but I always end up forgetting lol! Great ideas!
Thanks for sharing this. Christmas is expensive enough without having to add the extra cost of decorations the mix. I usually shop after Christmas sales to stock up on my decorations. The Dollar Tree is also another place I stock up at.
