Road Trip Essentials for Traveling with Young Children
It’s that time of the year where families are traveling with young children now that school is out. While the idea of packing for a road trip may seem stressful, it’s always easy when you know the essentials to have on hand.
Rest Area Activities
Think jump ropes, balls to toss and catch and good old fashion tag. When you stop to give everyone a chance to stretch give the kids a chance to get some energy out. These are very easy things that you can pack and don’t take up extra room as we all know that we need every bit of space for those siblings to prevent the “he’s touching me!” phrase.
Change of Clothes
Just the other day my oldest was cleaned up by grandma and we went off on an adventure. Within 30 minutes his face looked like he had been rolling around in a pig pen and I had no idea how it even happened. For these cases I always make sure we have baby wipes and a change of clothes regardless of whether the child is in diapers or not.
Kids will gravitate towards things that make them dirty. They will find a way and you need to make sure you have a back up without having to hope you find a clothing store before your destination.
