Razzleberry Smoothie: Share the Joy of Pie with Friends
Do you have some people that you spend the holidays with, who are special to you? When it’s the holiday season I look forward to Christmas Eve at Grandmas’ , and seeing my best friend to exchange gifts. With this year being harder to find time to see each other I want to share the joy of pie and friendship with her.
When real life gets in the way of friendship
In middle school Alicia and I never thought anything would get in the way of our friendship. However, when we dipped our toes into some bad water we realized that when you’re young there is one thing that can separate friends: parents. There were many occasions where we would not be allowed to see each other for months and once even up to a year.
Now over 13 years later, we are still best friends. That kind of friendship is rare and something that I cherish every day. Being adults we are faced with new obstacles in our path of seeing each other more. Jobs, kids, family and just not enough time. We both tell each other that no matter how little we get to talk we still love each other just as strong and that type of friendship I want to show her I appreciate.
Knowing your best friends’ favorite dessert is a must. A heaping slice of Marie Callender’s® Dessert Pies and Reddi-wip® on top. I decided to head to my local Walmart freezer section to get a Razzleberry pie for me and one to gift to Alicia. No pie is complete without Reddi-wip®, found in the dairy section. Now I have everything I need to gift her a delicious pie.
Making it even more personal I decided to make gift tags. One included to her to share the joy of pie with another friend.
Razzleberry Pie Smoothie
- 6 Ice cubes
- 1 slice of Razzleberry Pie cooled down
- ¼ c. orange juice
- Carefully deconstruct pie slice by removing top crust layer
- Add in filling and bottom crust to blender
- Put ice and orange juice in next
- Blend until smooth 2-3 minutes
- Place in glass and top carefully with top layer of crust
- Add Reddi-Wip®
When I first tried this smoothie I was so impressed. Orange is such a great flavor to go with these juicy delicious berries. Piling on the top layer of the crust makes it a good smoothie to eat with a fork!
Upon leaving a pie for my friend I also included instructions to this smoothie and how she can share the joy of pie with others. A small act of kindness can really brighten another persons day.
How would you share the joy of pie?
