Morning Mixed Berry Smoothie
I tend to like my smoothies on a thicker side just like this morning mixed berry smoothie that I’m sharing today.
- 1 packet of frozen acai pulp (find at Whole Foods)
- 1 banana
- ¼ cup of bluberries (optional)
- Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. You want it to be thick, mainly so you can eat it with a spoon along with other berries or nuts. Pour in a cup and enjoy!
I love that I can use this smoothie as a base for eating more fruits like bananas, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. It’s so delicious to taste the berry explosion and not to mention how healthy it is too. If I don’t make something good and healthy in the morning everything seems to fall downhill after that.
I’ve managed to be able to get my kids to drink smoothies now too. It’s been such a hassle with their texture issues and making sure they get proper nutrition. I never realized how big it could play into their eating habits but I try to be strict, even with my mother when she takes Korey on the weekends.
For the rest of the summer I’m trying to enjoy the fresh food that our farmers our growing, especially the berries. There’s something about going to the farmers market and handing money to the person who put work into giving you that food. I love it.
