I love Oatmeal, my grandmother always made it and it’s an easy breakfast you can make under 5 minutes sometimes. Today I’m giving you my Mixed Berry Almond Oatmeal recipe, this is a go-to a lot on the weekends when it’s getting too close to the afternoon and I haven’t eaten breakfast. I just put this together and eat within 10 minutes!
I’m still giving my eating breakfast everyday a good go so quick breakfast ideas that I can make are my best friend’s right now. We are trying to have more nuts, fruits and veggies on hand always so we can have a good snack or make a quick meal with good ingredients. My hands always find the berries in the morning so they are my must-have.
I love using jars to make oatmeal, just seems even faster for me.
- 1 packet Quaker Oats quick oatmeal
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- ¼ c. sliced almonds
- ¼ c. frozen raspberries
- ¼ c. frozen cranberries
- ¼ c. frozen blueberries
- ¼ c.frozen blackberries
- 2 tbsp. chia seeds
- Pour oatmeal into mason jar add water according to packet
- Layer brown sugar and berries in jar top with chia seeds
- Put in microwave for 2 minutes
- Carefully remove jar and stir then top with almonds and enjoy!
It was so good even Mila wanted some, can’t say I don’t blame her lately the new boy has been hogging that food dish! Using frozen fruit was great with the oatmeal recipe because it was able to defrost perfectly and tasted so good with the brown sugar!
Not quite the plain brown sugar oatmeal my grandmother use to make but if you are on the go and need something quick this is perfect!
