I have the unfortunate knowledge of knowing many people in my life who have been affected by cancer. Some are still today fighting, and others are no longer in any pain such as my Grandfather who passed away on 5/30 this year. The diagnosis of cancer in many forms is a hard road to travel, and breast cancer for women is a hard subject to understand and talk about. Allstate is looking to change that with their guide The Silver Living Companion Guide.
I downloaded this free book and was amazed at how wonderfully put together it is. Many women have questions after they’re first diagnosed with breast cancer, some that they may be afraid to ask their doctor about it. In this book you find answers and guidance along your discovery of your diagnosis. I also found this helpful as a friend, or family member. You can take these answers as advice upon learning the diagnosis.
You can get your own copy of The Silver Lining Companion Guide or pass it on to a friend. This wonderful guide has been released in time to get all women connection across this nation for National Women’s Health Week. As women we like to come together after the diagnosis of breast cancer but really knowing what to expect is the mystery. You can feel like you’re lost in a big city. Know that no one is alone in this diagnosis. Each year more than 250,000 people find out they have breast cancer in the U.S.
While this book cannot take away the pain from learning you or someone you love have breast cancer, is does help provide you with some hope to get through the difficult times ahead. In an effort to get this to more women and help them empower each other this book is also available in a Spanish version. Check your local Allstate agency to see if they have a guide available in their offices as well.
The difficult subjects that we have to talk about with cancer are covered so well in this book. One of the hardest things for me was finding a way to talk with my child about his grandfather and cancer. This book gives you great advice and helps you go in the right direction.
