Celebrate Health with Healthy Choice Power Bowls
Are you celebrating your health this month? May is Women’s Health month and I’ve been finding ways to push myself and to make sure I’m keeping on track with my health.
Before 2017 I would have sworn that I never would take a picture of myself after a workout. All red in the face, blemishes showing and hair a mess. This year is different and there’s no better month than to start talking about the changes I’ve been making for myself.

One of the first things I did was drop my excuses and find a way to workout. It became really easy when my best friend Alicia, wanted to join a gym. She asked me and I said we will find the one we love and sign up for a year.
We searched all over our local county, found what we wanted and signed up. Our goal was to workout during the 2 hour period that our kids are in school. Since we both manage our own working hours, there was no reason not to unless we had an appointment and the gym still has later hours.
I really love the release of stress I get and the feeling after crushing a workout is amazing! I’ve noticed myself becoming stronger and my cardio sessions lasting longer too.
The biggest change has been a work in progress. We both love to eat and we really enjoy food that tastes good. The first healthy food we found that we both loved was Healthy Choice frozen meals. Now our favorite brand is getting a makeover with ancient whole grains, a variety of colorful and new vegetables, and what I need most after working out, protein.
I had the chance to try two new flavors: Adobo Chicken Bowl and Korean-Inspired Beef Bowl. Both fit perfectly in my busy schedule as I can just pop them right out and stick them in the microwave, no need to give it a tear.
Have you ever looked forward to eating something over and over? Like a favorite lunch, you look forward to because the ingredients are just so delicious? That’s how I feel about these!
First, the packaging is one of the most amazing concepts I have seen. The bowl that the food sits in is made out of a plant-based fiber and made of recycled bagasse and soft wood. What a great way to be gentle to our Earth.
The word healthy may feel like it gets thrown around a lot now but did you know that Healthy Choice is the only major brand in its category that can that 100 percent of its products are “healthy” as approved by the FDA? Now that’s something that I can be proud of when I eat.
If you’re a fan of spicy food like me, then you will enjoy the heat from the Korean-Inspired Beef Bowl. It’s filled with all natural tenderly braised beef with shiitake mushrooms (favorite!) and vegetables. Underneath is a brown and red rice mixture with red quinoa and black barley with a spicy gochujang and soy sauce topped with black & white sesame seeds.
Oh, it does have quite the kick! The sauce is perfectly portioned to cover everything without drowning it in as well. And the Adobo Chicken has pulled chicken with vegetables on top of the rice and quinoa mixed with guajillo chili sauce topped with roasted pepitas. No antibiotics in the chicken, sticking to healthy eating has never been easier!
