It’s almost Halloween! Have you gotten your childs Halloween costume together yet? Thankfully we are all set with Korey. We gave him the option of digging through a store magazine to look at Halloween costumes and choose his own, and like a big boy he knew what he wanted to be immediately.
Spongebob Squarepants! As you know he’s a bit limited in his words but he saw Spongebob Squarepants in the catalog and pointed him out and said “Bob Bob!” So of course we let him be Spongebob.
Keith was a genius when he came out and handed Korey a spatula to take with us on Beggars night. You can always tell those that don’t have grandkids or that haven’t had them in awhile, one lady asked why he was carrying a spatula, others thought it was adorable! He even met a Spongedog that night.
We tried getting him to say trick or treat but we knew that was asking a lot from him so we said it for him and said thank you as well. He really enjoyed being able to get out and see other kids in costumes so this gives us high hopes for Halloween night and him having a fun time!
While most parents embrace costumes, you can see Korey’s father in his Batman hoodie above, I am more for the candy. I love picking through his candy seeing what he can’t eat yet and giving myself a little treat. One of my favorite companies that makes candy is of course Hershey’s! I treated my family to some delicious Pumpkin Muffins with Pumpkin Spice Kisses topping from Hershey’s. I can’t keep the recipe to myself so I will share with you!
- Pumpkin Bread or Muffin mix
- Hershey's Pumpkin Spice Kisses
- Bake Pumpkin Muffins according to directions
- Let muffins cool for 5 minutes at least
- Melt 10 Hershey's Pumpkin Spice Kisses in a microwavable safe bowl for 2 minutes at 1 minute intervals or over stop top
- Spoon over muffins or pour into frosting decorator
If you have yet to try these delicious Pumpkin Spice Kisses from Hershey’s, you are robbing your taste buds. Korey went nuts for these and Keith was suprised how delicious they were and the fact that they were easy to make. I didn’t spend all day in the kitchen, less than an hour and I was able to make these!
If I had to pick out Halloween costumes, mine would probably be something food or foodie related. For the past 3 years I have either been pregnant or in between a weight loss and wasn’t excited about going out and dressing up in something not so flattering. I know sometimes pregnant women like to dress up funny with the baby or do those skeleton shirts but frankly, they scare me and I’m sure Korey would have a few questions.
What is your favorite Halloween treat?
