Halloween has come and gone. We had a fantastic time taking Korey out for his first Trick or Treat. As it being the first time there were a few things that I learned and I will be applying these next year.
- Bring mittens. I will admit that we didn’t even try mittens on Korey for the first time last night and he wore them perfectly! I wish I would have thought of this before his little fingers got a little chilly.
- Flashlight and Glowsticks. Keith and I both stared at each other when it was getting dark and other families had these items. We felt so stupid, something so simple that we didn’t even think of. I will make sure we glow in the night next year.
- Camera. I told myself that I would be bringing it. I checked once but I should have doubled checked because I left it right on our kitchen table. I was so mad, I didn’t get any pictures of Korey trick or treating.
I did bring a blanket for him and water to drink and allowed him a few treats along the way to keep his energy up. Alicia also went trick or treating with Savannah and she said she was happy that they left early and she brought along a hat, mittens and a blanket since it got chilly.
This photo is when they went trick or treating at the mall. Isn’t Savannah just adorable as a flower?
What would be your trick or treating advice for parents?
Aww, they’re so cute!!

I agree with the glow sticks. Also, but a glow necklace or some bracelets and have the child wear them. In the stroller it isn’t as much of a thought if you are carrying a stick, but once they walk which is by the time they are 2 (trust they will insist on it) then you want them lit up after dark so they don’t get hit
Sounds like you did a great job! I can never seem to get mine dressed for the weather.

Oh my gosh–what adorable children!!! made me smile this early Saturday morning. I think the glow sticks and mittens are good ideas–my .02 is a safe snack that you brought from home as you know the kids want to dig in right away and I like to check the candy at home in the light before they dive in.

They are so cute and their costumes are adorable! Those are great tips. We always try to remember mittens and a flashlight too.

Adorable! Good tips. We don’t allow any candy while we are out because we want them to learn that it has to be checked over in the light by an adult first but I definitely think maybe bringing your own snack would be good. For kids not in diapers, make sure they go to the bathroom BEFORE you go. A small bucket for toddlers to hold that is then dumped into a bigger bag so it doesn’t get heavy is another tip.

They are adorable. I forgot a flashlight too and that was a huge mistake. Luckily the people with us had one! Whew!!
