Starbucks coffee is very near and dear to my heart, and stomach. As the holidays are quickly approaching (Thanksgiving is THIS week folks!) households are brewing more coffee to get their energy for the long day of cooking and baking ahead. My family is also going to be heading out on Black Friday to shop and save, what better way to stay warm and ready for sales than with a big cup of Starbucks Italian Blend coffee.
I went to my local Walmart to pick up a bag of Starbucks Italian Blend coffee and a package of Snickerdoodle cookies from the bakery, I was on the lookout for a special display featuring Starbucks Italian Blend called “Delicious Pairings”. Your local Walmart should have a display set up in the bakery department to show you what baked goods pair perfectly with Starbucks coffee and you can pick up both your coffee and a yummy Walmart bakery item right in the same location! Unfortunately my local Walmart did not have the display set up so I had to head to the coffee aisle instead.
While shopping for coffee one of my difficulties is choosing which roast I want. From the wide selection of blends that Starbucks carries I know I can always find a new favorite among the bunch. This trip was easy to make with knowing the specific blend I was looking for all the way at the top of the shelf! Thankfully they were stocked plenty and I was able to reach a bag, being short and shopping for items on the top shelf can often have set backs for me and a longer shopping trip than I expected.
On my way to the bakery at Walmart to find Snickerdoodle cookies I ran into a traffic jam of shoppers. Everyone was out getting their rolls and breads for Thanksgiving dinner. In times like these I try not to get frustrated by waiting but rather sneak a peak or two of what other people have in their cart. Often by doing this I find something that my family is interested in but I hadn’t noticed myself while shopping! Once I had both products in my cart I was ready to go home and brew myself a nice hot cup of coffee.
When paired with a soft Snickerdoodle cookie found at The Bakery at Walmart the coffee took on a whole new taste. The cinnamon and sugar from the cookie blended into the dark taste of the coffee and brought out a fantastic taste of spices and sweetness. Complimentary notes for Italian Blend are: Chocolate, Caramelized Sugar, Spices. This delicious pairing was a great start to my morning and this is how I plan to start my day tomorrow.
I was completely surprised at how much I like this bold blend. Usually when trying bold blends they leave a bad almost burnt taste in my mouth but this went down smooth both by itself and when paired with a Snickerdoodle cookie. Starbucks Italian Roast is perfect if you like a your coffee dark but want still quality taste without bitterness to it.
Getting ready to bake for Thanskgiving and having my shopping plan for Black Friday doesn’t allow me much time to mess around tomorrow. Starting my day with a cup of Starbucks Italian Roast coffee and a soft Snickerdoodle cookie with give me the energy and fuel I need to get going. Stop by your local Walmart to pick up a bag of Starbucks Italian Roast coffee and a package of Snickerdoodle cookies to start your busy day tomorrow.
