Hi! I’m Ashleigh, the face behind Living Off Love and Coffee and Makeup and Flats.
I’ve created Living Off Love and Coffee to help millennial parents with special needs children. As a young mother I watched my first born, Korey, gain wonderful skills and then fall into regression. I questioned whether he would ever talk ago and what our life would be like after this.
His father and I were at a loss for information and friends that could understand. Through wonderful therapists and teachers our son Korey has made amazing strides and is a big talker!
Our second son is on a journey through developmental delays and giving inside to our daily life is important for me to connect to those parents going through this as well. I want to give parents a space to ask questions, learn new approaches, discuss obstacles and openly vent if needed.
Through our in-home therapy, teaching toddler and PreK educational activities, what we eat at home and how as a mother I find time to still have time for myself, this blog expresses the life of an average millennial with special needs children. Korey has Sensory Processing Disorder and we are awaiting an Autism diagnosis as well.
I’m a fun personality who gets the food quirks our kids have sometimes, like my step-by-step dissection of Reese’s or Kit-Kats before I eat them. Or my only foods that I approved to eat when I went out as a child, BLTs or chicken fingers and if they weren’t on the menu I wasn’t eating.
As a blogger for over 6 years, I have embraced my favorite social media sites Instagram and Pinterest, although you can find me elsewhere as well. Learning the ins and outs of photography and social media is a passion that I have always had, who knew it could turn into a full-time job!
