3 Ways Practicing Self-Care Can Improve You
This post was sponsored Tai Pei, all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
Do you neglect practicing self-care as a mom? When I lose focus on myself and just give every bit of myself to my family; holidays, birthdays, sports, scouts. I find that I become more depressed and just the spark of trying to make the best of every day.
Learn a new skill
Whether it’s playing an instrument, learning chopstick for your favorite Asian Food, or a new language. Giving yourself a challenge and not only finding something you enjoy but something that can keep your mind healthy is a great way to start practicing self-care.
You may not be used to thinking about what you would really enjoy doing. Between watching the same cartoon over and over and teaching a child how to do math (in a new format that leaves you questioning everything). Set aside 10 minutes to search the internet for a skill that you have and plan out how long you want to practice and then make a schedule.
There are so many places you can learn a skill from thanks to the web!
Have a Fitness Routine
If the word exercise scares you, then think of the word fitness instead. Now, as far as a routine I’m not talking about being in the gym for hours and stressing yourself out of the number on the scale. I just mean finding a fitness routine that you enjoy and it makes you happy.
Since I started going to the gym as a weekly routine, I notice that when I miss it for long periods of time I become less happy. Just a half hour of cardio or lifting can really change up my attitude of the day. Ask friends around if they have a yoga class, gym or just go for a walk and see if you can join in.
Don’t Skip Meals
If you’re tempted to just go through the lunch rush without eating, don’t! Take care of your body and make sure you’re getting your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To make lunch easier you can use this $1.00 off Tai Pei Asian Food coupon, check their website for a store locator.
Tai Pei has a variety of frozen foods including Fried Rice, Beef and Broccoli, General Tso’s Spicy Chicken and more. Each made with real ingredients that include flavored infused rice.
No more boring lunch, bring your favorite takeout right to your microwave and have it in seconds. Don’t worry about having to make a plate either because they come ready in a handy new packaging that you can eat out of and take anywhere.
How do you like to practice self-care?
That’s a really great article – many useful advices here. I’m all about improving myself as well now. I started with changing my body first and I see quite a lot of success, but now I also want to improve in other areas!
Great article.I haven’t been skipping any meals and I workout more.
